Emphasis has been placed on increasing the strength of eastlake’s Major Accounts team, which looks after the organisation’s key clients including BP, Scottish Media Group and Aegon.

Workplace interiors specialist, the eastlake group, has announced a major expansion for its Manchester operation. The expansion will see the Middleton-based team expand from 12 to 18, with a projected turnover increase of £4m to £6.5m.

eastlake group has welcomed three new appointments to its Cardiff Bay based team. Michael Richards joins as a senior business development consultant, Danny Grace joins as a Sales Administrator while Samantha Mead joins as a new designer, as part of the company’s continued expansion plans.

Michael has over 12 years experience in sales following positions with BBI, Drake Audio Visual, Nationwide Access and Mac-Western Computer Group. He leaves his position as new business development manager with Interaction Associates Ltd to take up the post with eastlake commercial interiors (eci). He will be responsible for implementing the focused business plan for Wales, contributing to the growth of the business, maximising the eastlake product and service portfolio and ultimately generating new business leads and enquiries from across a range of market sectors.

Samantha joins the eastlake design partnership (edp) arm of the group as a designer. She has always had a keen interest in design, graduating from Luton University with a BA in Interior Design and completing further computer design qualifications in 2004 and 2005. Samantha leaves a four year post at Avid Design Consultants Ltd where she worked as both part of a team and individually on a variety of projects including design of retail, workplace, leisure and domestic interiors, from initial proposal through to completion.

Danny, originally from Ireland but having studied in Cardiff, has moved back to the capital after a logistics role as an administrator within the clothing retail industry, working for Dunnes Stores. His role with eci is to support the sales team, contributing to the growth of the business and maximising sales performance, playing a pivotal role in the team.

The new addition to the Cardiff Bay office is Simon Raper. Hailing from West Yorkshire, Simon is a graduate in Architecture and Interior Architecture & Design, and has almost twenty years experience in delivering projects in the field of commercial interiors. He joins edp from his previous role as a Partner and co-founder of 360 Design (UK) - a multi-disciplined design practice. The Eastlake Group has offices across the UK and with ambitious plans to develop edp in Wales and the South West, Simon takes over this important role of directing operations within the region. Philip, founder and CEO of the Cordless Group is a consultant, commentator and researcher on technology and workplace futures and has pioneered research into the impact of new technologies on work, the work process and workplace. He has worked with organisations such as Ernst & Young, Allen & Overy, GlaxoSmithKline, Jones Lang LaSalle and Ericsson on future workplace concepts based on emerging cordless technologies. Philip has also spoken at conferences around the world and authored a series of papers and books on workplace, technology and design issues.

East Kilbride based organisation, eastlake commercial interiors (eci) – a part of the Eastlake Group, has strengthened its board with the appointment of Julie Low as major accounts director.

This appointment comes as the Group boosted staff numbers with eight new members joining across four of the organisation’s offices in the last three months.  Julie has been with the company for a number of years, has contributed significantly to its recent success, and will continue to focus on bringing in and managing major accounts for the business.

The Group, which underwent an organisational restructure earlier this year, has experienced an extensive period of growth over the last two years – including two major acquisitions in Leeds and Belfast. This growth period has resulted in a tripling of staff numbers and turnover which now sees the company employing almost 170 staff with a turnover of £34m targeted for 2007.

Leading facilities services and furniture supply company, the eastlake group, has unveiled a new business structure following significant developments in the business that have resulted in an increase in projected turnover of £12m to £34m.

The Group has formed 4 new registered businesses, namely; eastlake commercial interiors, eastlake design partnership, eastlake facilities services and the recently acquired cm3 business in Northern Ireland. To coincide with the restructure, the Group has also unveiled a new corporate look working with the brand support agency NB Group – the development of the Group’s identities reflects the individual personality of each business, whilst maintaining its connection with the parent brand – the eastlake group. Burdew was established in 1974 and currently employs 28 people at its Leeds based premises. The company, which produces low volume, high quality furniture for many high profile clients such as the Commonwealth committee, last year reported a turnover of £2.8m and a profit of £150k. The eastlake group was a customer for over five years before the acquisition took place.

The eastlake group, formerly Georgesons, was subject to an MBO by David Eastlake in 2003. Since then, the organisation has gone from strength to strength, trebling turnover and number of staff.
