eastlake support new talent

Students showcasing their work at UWIC Cardiff Design Show will be going all out to impress with a work placement at the eastlake design partnership (edp) up for grabs and the opportunity to work on some high profiles projects.

The leading UK-wide workplace design and consultancy firm has an office in Cardiff Bay and has decided to support the UWIC School of Art & Design summer exhibition for the second time, with the work placement the first opportunity for an under-graduate to join the team.

The exhibition is a showcase for students with the best work displayed at the UWIC Howard Gardens’ site and was open for public view from 9th June.

“We are delighted to have eastlake’s involvement with the School of Art & Design Show and it is fantastic they have come on board to help support, nurture and promote new design talent,” commented Patrick Hannay, UWIC Art & Design programme director.  “Thanks to eastlake’s sponsorship, the profile of the Show has been raised and one lucky designer will be rewarded for all their hard work with a work placement and the opportunity to put all they have learned into practice.”

eastlake is on the look-out for an innovative designer and whoever catches their eye in the design exhibition will get a summer work placement and the chance to learn about workplace design.

Huw Moseley, managing director of eastlake design partnership (edp) said “not only are we looking for someone who produces a high standard of work, but also an individual who is dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic.  The person chosen will spend a period of the summer at the hub of the business learning about workplace design and work on a number of high profile projects.  It is a placement that will provide hands-on experience and the chance to learn about the working design environment.”
